Replacing Sheave in Turning Blocks
Just after our purchase of Kokopelli we went sailing sod tried to put up
the spinnaker. In an attempt to raise the chute on Kokopelli, after halfway
up and full of wind we could not get the chute up or down. With the usual
screaming in excitement I came to realize that the halyard was jammed in
the turning block at the base of the mast. Once home I discovered 5 of the
6 blocks had cracked sheaves.
Details on how to replace your sheaves are in the newsletter. Size and details
of drilling and removing ,then replacing are outlined. Also where to get
the parts and the cost to do this are supplied in the newsletter.
