FROM THE HELM

Time to put away snow shovels and skis and do what we really love to do...SAIL.

A new Web-page has been started up by Skip Ross for those with Internet access. It looks great and has a lot of information from other members to obtain. For those with- out the Internet access I'll try to keep you informed by snail mail notes or through the newsletter.

Anton did get in touch with Tony Castro CS designer of the CS34, 36M, 40 and the 44, via E-mail and had an interesting conversation. Castro said because he's so busy be rarely responds to any E-mail messages. Read what Tony had to say about his designs and the CS34.

HINTS 'N HELPERS

Replacing Sheave in Turning Blocks

Just after our purchase of Kokopelli we went sailing sod tried to put up the spinnaker. In an attempt to raise the chute on Kokopelli, after halfway up and full of wind we could not get the chute up or down. With the usual screaming in excitement I came to realize that the halyard was jammed in the turning block at the base of the mast. Once home I discovered 5 of the 6 blocks had cracked sheaves.

Details on how to replace your sheaves are in the newsletter. Size and details of drilling and removing ,then replacing are outlined. Also where to get the parts and the cost to do this are supplied in the newsletter.

PHRF Ratingsfor CS Yachts

Some owners wanted to know what the PHRF rating other CS yachts had from different areas of sailing. These ratings are supplied in the Newsletter Pg. 4
