Rigging - Intermediate shrouds and forestay replaced in 2011 after full inspection. Original Harken roller furler is in very good condition.
Running rigging - Halyards and lifelines less than five years old. I replaced the in-boom reefing system in 2011 (lines and new mast blocks). I also ran all lines except the topping lift to the cockpit along with new rope clutches.
Sails (main and 110) are original but still in good condition. Very few repairs (restitching).
Adjustable downwind pole and a new adjustable mast ring.
Engine - original Volvo 2001 diesel (18 HP). Runs well, no issues. Various spare parts.
Electrical - two starting batteries in starboard compartment with a port locker compartment for house service with a new Group 31 AGM. Recent Guest 10/10 trolling shore charger .

New mooring lines.
Head - Headmate head with most hoses replaced (no prior leaks ). Large forward holding tank with deck pumpout fitting.
Water - 30 gallon tank with 12 volt pressure pump and new 6 gallon water heater on exchanger - 110 volt not currently connected. All water systems winterized annually and deodorized in the spring. No leaks.
110 volt AC - new window AC unit adapted to fit in forward hatch with custom Sunbrella shroud. Easily lifted in through fwd hatch when preparing to get under way.
Covers - Dodger in very good condition - had it restitched. New large bimini with rigid stainless frame. New sacrificial on 110 jib. All in Sunbrella Royal Blue Tweed. Mainsail cover is fairly new in a slightly lighter colour.
New VHF radio at nav station.
Accomodation - New memory foam topper in quarterberth. Original cushions and upholstery are in good condition.
All interior teak recently oiled.
Most interior lights have been upgraded to LED for efficiency.
All port lights (most open) were removed in 2011 and resealed with new trim rings, rubber seals and screens. No leaks what so ever. Port lights were also polished to remove opaqueness.

Although I am attached to this boat through many sailing experiences and sweat equity, I am unable to find opportunity to use it due to wife's seasickness.

1991 CS-34 Elemental $65,000 USD
Lying: Ithaca, NY; Email:  tsebring[AT]xoptx.com

Designed by Tony Castro as a high performance cruiser, Elemental was one of the last CS boats built. The boat has lived its entire life on Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of NY and has only ~375 hours on the original Yanmar 2GM 20F diesel. The boat spends Oct-May on the hard under shrink-wrap each year. The third owner has invested substantially over the past 9 years with 3 recent Haarstick sails, all new running rigging, blocks, new electronics, Variprofile 3 blade feathering prop, new water heater, new batteries, and much more. The boat is in very good condition and could come with a slip at Treman Marina in Ithaca, NY. The boat is fast, roomy, reliable, dry, and needs nothing for cruising the Finger Lakes, little to go anywhere coastal. Access from Ithaca to Lake Ontario and onward via the Erie Canal.

CS40 for sale

1992 CS 40 Wharf Rat For Sale *
Located Chesapeake Bay
$95,000 US
"Wharf Rat is a Clean, Well Maintained Yacht Ready to Win Races & Sail"
Deep Keel, Tall Mast Model
Email: ljvaz[AT]netscape.net
WEBSITE: http://atlanticsailingexp.com

If you are looking for a comfortable cruiser and a capable racer then look no further! Wharf Rat is a good looking, clean, well maintained yacht with all the tools to win races and cruise the Caribbean. She is sure-footed, steady in bad weather, predictable in confused seas, points well, flies on a reach...and you will love her down wind manners! Wharf Rat has always sailed well beating down Bay towards the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The CS40 is stiff , responsive, balanced, powerful, fast and fun to sail.

The CS 40 was designed by Tony Castro, British Yacht Designer of many America Cup Boats. Her lines and sail plan are a classic example of a Perfect Performance, Cruising Yacht. SAILING WORLD voted the CS 40 "Top of the Class" and "Boat of the Year" in 1987.
Owners and equipment manuals are included, bottom painted August 2013 and hull painted AwlGrip Flag Blue in 2003.The wide beam and long waterline gives the CS 40 an incredibly roomy interior.
The forward cabin has a traditional V berth with storage cabinets over the foot end of the bunk and a vanity with drawers and cabinet in the cabin.
Next aft is the enclosed head with shower and teak grate, hot and cold pressurized water. Opposite head is a cedar lined wet locker.
The main salon has an L shaped settee to port that converts to a double and centerline drop leaf teak dining table. The berth to starboard is a single, both main cabin berths have a lee cloth. There are lockers and shelves/bookcase outboard of the settees.
The navigation area is to starboard with a dedicated seat, a teak chart desk and an instrument console. Outboard is the circuit breaker panel for the electrical systems, a flush mounted VHF radio and 2012 Fusion stereo with 4-speakers. A GPS, chart plotter and tv/monitor are just forward of the nav desk.
The Galley is to port with a 3 burner propane stove and oven. There is a refridge/freezer at the aft end of the galley and a built in ice box behind the sinks. The sinks are deep stainless steel near centerline for good drainage. The Galley has excellent ventilation with 3 portholes and a deck hatch overhead. There is ample food and dish storage in sliding drawers and cabinet doors behind the reefer, stove and sinks.
The aft cabin has a generous double berth, a vanity sink with pressure water, cedar lined hanging locker and a dresser with 4 drawers. There is standing headroom in the forward section of the aft cabin. Good ventilation with 3 ports and a deck hatch.
There is excellent ventilation throughout the boat with 12 opening hatches and ports.
A gigantic port cockpit locker provides access to hot water heater, rack & pinion steering and houses the reefer compressor, storm sails, life preservers, lines, etc!

CS30 wanted

Wanted to Buy:

Looking for a well-equipped CS30 in good condition with a shoal draft (4 foot 3 inch) fin keel. Living in the Windsor, Ontario area. Willing to travel to view a good boat. Refrigeration would be a welcome asset. Will be away from April 17th-28th.

CS36 wanted

We are currently in the market for a CS36T. We do not have specific requirements other than that the boat must be in good shape, we simply don't want to put the time in that a project boat takes. The boat needs to be on the east coast between New York City and Maine so that we can do a quick delivery back to our homeport of Gloucester, MA.

We are prepared to buy this spring if a good boat becomes available although we are not in a hurry due to already having a smaller cruising boat (that will be sold). If you have something that you are considering selling, please feel free to contact us and we can discuss.

The best way to contact us is by email at eric . c . klem [AT] gmail.com (eliminate spaces and replace at) or by phone seven8one-seven2four-seven6five2.

CS36T wanted

Looking for a later model CS36T with shoal draft.

We are planning ahead and looking for potential sellers who are doing the same.

We are looking to purchase a boat AFTER the 2015 season with possession in May of 2016.

The focus of our search, & the most important criteria, is for a solid hull, keel & deck with no de-lamination, wet core, or blistering issues.

Unless the boat has been through a recent refit, we assume that we'll be replacing the engine, standing & running rigging, and sails .....among other things.

As we are located in the northeast GTA area we are looking for a Great Lakes boat.

If you would like to list a boat for sale or describe a boat you want to buy on this page, please contact us. These listings are provided as a service to CS Owners, and there is therefore no charge.
Note: If clicking the above link does not open a contact window, please click here.

Send the plain text as you would like it to appear. Please do not use all caps - they will be automatically converted to all lower case. Do not send graphics - they won't be used. Do not send formatted HTML - plain text only, please.

Over 150 previous listings, for all models, are in the Listings Archive. You may find them helpful as examples. They include asking price and, often, actual selling price. These may help you negotiate a fair final price for your boat.

If you include price, specify country, e.g. US or Canada. It is recommended that you provide a phone number, e-mail address and boat location (state or province). .

After a certain amount of time since the ads are posted (no less than 1 year), they will be removed if notice is not sent to the web site requesting an extension. A history of all ads is in the archive, but contact information is not included there.
